Your Driver's License Has Been Suspended by the MA RMV

Your Driver's License has Been Suspended by the MA RMV

Coronavirus Update

Urgent: To ensure the health and wellbeing of our instructors and students due to current coronavirus pandemic, the National Safety Council and the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles (MA RMV) have canceled all Massachusetts classroom 8-hour Driver Retraining Programs until further notice.

NOW AVAILABLE: MA RMV has temporarily approved an alternative way to deliver the statutorily required content in the form of a 4-hour online class. For a limited time, your participation in the online course will fulfill your in-person class requirement. The process is easy and convenient, and the online course can be completed anywhere you have an internet connection.

  • If you were enrolled in a classroom Driver Retraining Program, you have been automatically transferred into the online class. Look for mail or email from NSC that includes a unique access code and instructions on how to log in and complete your 4-hour online class. If you are scheduled for multiple classes, you will receive a unique online access code for each program requirement and will need to complete the online course multiple times.
  • To register for the 4-hour online class, please click the red “Register Now” button and get started immediately.

Once you complete the online class, NSC will electronically transmit your completion to the MA RMV. This process takes four business days. You may check your license status at any time by accessing your profile at Mass.gov/RMV.

About the Course

It is illegal to operate a vehicle with a suspended license.

If found driving on a suspended license, you could face fines, impoundment of your vehicle, imprisonment or permanent loss of your driving privileges.

The MA Registry of Motor Vehicles has suspended your driver’s license due to accumulated surchargeable events. The MA RMV can reinstate your license if you complete ALL classroom training requirements listed on your letter and comply with all other RMV requirements.

Commonwealth of MA Driver Retraining Program

This course, presented by the National Safety Council in cooperation with the Registry of Motor Vehicles, is aimed at changing behavior behind the wheel. Through this course, drivers learn why they continue to have driving related problems and how they can take responsibility for their actions.
